Negative: Economic Gloom - Positive: Quality Debt Resource

March 17th, 2008 -- Posted in News, Resources | No Comments »

Negative: Today the FTSE seems to have taken a bit of a battering with the banks the heaviest losers after the problems in America. All markets worldwide seem to be having a rough time at the moment. The credit crunch now seems to have a firm grip on everyone meaning mortgages are harder to get and any kind of lending money is more difficult. Is this the start of a recession?

Positive: If you are still searching for more ways to get out of debt you should check out GoingDebtFree, a debt advice site with over 80 articles to read. The site is very nicely designed and super easy to use so well worth a peak to see if any of the information can help you out. :)

Earn Minimum Wage? You’re About To Get A Pay Rise!

If you do an unskilled job and haven’t done it for very long the chances are you earn the minimum wage or a few pence above it. Over 1,000,000 people in Britain are on the minimum wage so you are in the majority. Luckily for you the minimum wage is rising, from October 2008 it will increase by 21p to £5.73 per hour. This may not make low income earners significantly wealthier but fair play to Mr Brown, at least it is rising by a worthwhile amount again. As long as it doesn’t slow company growth by a noticeable amount or cause job losses then this can only be a good move.
